You know, I was thinking about that first tape the other day. I don't still have it - probably "lent" it to a friend, but I've been trying to find it. You guys are probably not going to believe me, but it is because of....Donna! (Collective Gasp). I know.
Seems there is was a LL Rain that when they get to the slow build up after the third verse everything drops off and instead of waiting for Bobby, she lets out a Beautiful oooooooooh into some other ahhhhhhhhh and it is really breathtaking. Now I know its DONNA and all but I thought, from that tape (being my first one) that she was a really good singer. Then I got to hear some pre-1975 banshee wailings.
But for many years I thought she was pretty hot - because of this tape.
Problem is - I don't remember where it was from. I think it was probably 78 because 77 just doesn't sound like that. Unless it was Fall 77.

Anyone know of this tape/venue/date?

Let's see if any of the Dead Detectives can rout this one out.

I seriously would like to know and the wealth of knowledge and information on this site are just ridiculous. In a great way of course.

Anyway, long post but thought I would ask.
